Pistol Marksmanship (MCRP 3-01B)
Note. A training manual is no substitute for instruction from a qualified instructor and practice on a supervised range. Know and follow the firearm laws where you live.
Issued on 25 November 2003, MCRP 3-01B is the Marine Corps reference for the M9 service pistol. Beyond the M9 specifics, it is a clear, well-illustrated course in fundamentals that apply to any handgun: the safety rules and weapon conditions, sight alignment and trigger control, grip and firing positions, presentation from the holster, using cover, one-handed shooting and low-light techniques.
Start with our note on the four rules of firearm safety.
